Marcum King
Managing General Partner
Since 1988, Marcum King has been in business for himself with a passion for entrepreneurial endeavors and a focus on finance and business development. His professional career has spanned across a broad spectrum throughout the financial and entrepreneurial industries. Over the course of his career, he has raised in excess of $50mm in private finance for start up, early stage and venture backed later stage companies across a variety of market sectors including Healthcare, MedTech, Cannabis, CPG, AgTech, SAAS, GreenTech Companies, Historic Real Estate Tax Credit Companies and Manufacturing. His capital raising efforts have focused on a diverse investor base including individuals, institutions and family offices.
He founded two private investment companies, Global Equity Ventures and Global Medical Holdings where he serves as Managing General Partner.
Tim Guthrie
Partner
Tim Guthrie is a career business and financial professional with 25 years’ experience serving client companies and their owners. Tim is known as a trusted advisor to business owners and CEO’s needing hands-on experience in order to address the financial and operational challenges they face.
Tim co-founded Running Start, LLC, dba Base110, in 2017 which is an operator of a co-workspace targeting creatives, designers, developers and entrepreneurs in the heart of downtown Lexington, Kentucky. Base110 has expanded from 7,500 square feet to over 18,000 square feet of open co-workspace, offices and event space. Base110 was awarded the 2019 Leadership Achievement Award by the Downtown Lexington Partnership.
He founded OnTrack Management Group, LLC in 2014 as a professional service firm to address key challenges for small and mid-sized business owners, the areas of finance, accounting and human resources. OnTrack’s clients find solutions ranging from project based services to full outsourcing in these key areas.
Prior to founding OnTrack, he has experience in technology based services, manufacturing, personal financial services and with companies ranging from early stage/startups to turnaround situations.
In 1990 Tim founded CFO Services, Inc., selling and delivering interim Chief Financial Officer Services to companies through a network of financial and accounting professionals. This experience has prepared Tim for the unique delivery of client services he offers at OnTrack. These include planning and development of startup companies, turnaround and workout services for troubled companies, and the analysis of acquisition and investment opportunities for corporate clients and private investors.
Tim has served as a board member for several business and community organizations that currently include: The Nest-Center for Women Children and Families, Inc., Members Heritage Federal Credit Union, and the Friends of Isaac Murphy Memorial Art Garden, Inc. Tim received his M.B.A. and B.S. in Business Administration from Murray State University, Murray, Kentucky.
Michael Rogers
Partner
Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech (’85) and a Marketing & Logistics MBA from the University of Tennessee (’97). Prior to his MBA program, Michael was a Lead Refueling Engineer on Nuclear Submarines for the US Navy at the Charleston Naval Shipyard in Charleston South Carolina. Following his MBA program, Michael held leading positions at Lexmark International Inc in Lexington, KY. His professional experience at Lexmark includes senior management experience in worldwide business operations, distribution, logistics and managed print services. While working with Lexmark, Michael had an overseas role in Hong Kong, streamlining & optimizing supply flow in N Asia, followed by a management role in Sydney Australia managing the procurement team that sourced parts/supplies for manufacturing and improving forecast accuracy and inventory management. Michael is a dynamic team leader with a proven record as a change agent and project management in delivering high-impact results, optimal team productivity, and significant cost savings through strategic leadership.
Since 2013, Michael shifted his focus into entrepreneurial endeavors, becoming a full-time investor. Michael has been investing in Real Estate assets, and Real Estate paper (mortgage notes).
Michael joined Global Equity Ventures in 2018 bringing an entrepreneurial spirit, deep analytical skills, and common-sense business savvy to the GEV partnership. Michael’s focus and interest is in finding founders with technology-based start-ups that enable innovative/disruptive business models.
Rebecca Parmley
Controller
Rebecca Parmley is an accountant with experience in leadership and financial roles in startup and growth- oriented companies in the US and Europe. With over 20 years of accounting experience, she has generated a clientele that includes individuals to mid and large size corporations. She has worked in the public and private sector, with significant understanding of governmental regulations pertaining to individuals and corporations. Her business acumen has brought her to the forefront of new enterprises including her own founding roles and executive C-Level positions in corporations over her career. Her services encompass accounting, taxes, financial law and mentorship for those entrepreneurs seeking financial guidance.
She has served as the CFO/Controller for several start-ups in various sectors, such as Medical, Tech, Real Estate, and Financial. Her dedication to financial security and transparency has helped her earn the trust of many different clients over the course of her career. Her efficiency at dividing up tasks and taking charge of key objectives marks her as a leader and team player.
